Young Adult Group
Meets Sunday nights, 6:00-7:30-ish. Kids are welcome; a babysitter is onsite. And the age range is flexible… within reason! Most of ’em are in their 20’s or early 30’s. Usually meets at Brian & Christy McGarry’s house.
Women’s Group
Meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month, 6:30-8:00 pm, at Lucy Laing’s house. Ladies, this is your chance to leave the kids at home and finally have some adult conversation! You’ll discuss passages from the Bible that relate to the daily issues that women face, pray for each other, and be encouraged by each other. Plus, it’s pretty new, so everyone is still getting to know each other. (That’s a good thing!)
Baptism Service
Sunday, April 20, 2008
1:30 3:00-3:30 pm at the Valparaiso YMCA
We have a location! The YMCA has agreed to let us use Stoner Pool for our baptism service. It’s not available until 3:00, so we’ve changed the time from 1:30 to 3:00. We hope you’ll join us!
Baptism is a sacramental moment that marks a person’s turning from sin and turning toward God. It symbolizes the washing away of sin and being born anew into the family of God. On Sunday, we’ll be baptizing three people who are wanting to publicly say, “Yes, Jesus has forgiven my sins, and I’m trusting him to lead me into a new life!”
If you would like to be baptized as a sign of your faith in Jesus Christ, please get in touch with Pastor Rich Schmidt by email or at (219) 462-1245.
Easter Sunday
Sunday, March 23, 2008
9:00 & 10:30 a.m.
Aberdeen Manor banquet hall
It’s almost here! Join us at 9:00 or 10:30 on Easter Sunday morning for a light breakfast/brunch and an engaging service, while your kids enjoy their own service geared just for them. Yep, it’s just like every other Sunday at Living Hope. Including the “no dress code” thing. Wear your Easter Sunday best, your Monday morning casual, or your Saturday afternoon usual. It’s your choice… just so long as it’s something you’re comfortable spilling coffee on.
Morning Men’s Group
Meets Wednesday mornings, 7:00-8:15, at the Chocolate Cafe on the courthouse square. Grab a coffee or hot chocolate & crash on one of the couches (if you’re early enough). They usually talk about the past Sunday’s message and how it does or doesn’t get lived out in their lives right now. All ages welcome, but no childcare provided. (This group does not meet on the first Wednesday of every month. Another group packs out the cafe that morning.)
Evening Men’s Group
On the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, a bunch of guys get together at Mike Pavlo’s house to talk about life, God, and “guy stuff.” Just about to start looking at the book, In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day. Good stuff!
